Ew, what a gross comment to make. I’d question their character after that.
I feel you, and agree with most of it… buuutttt I think it’s even more frustrating to know you had a good reference that was closed and then spent a stupid amount of time to find again.
Everyone has their own workflow, whatever works.
I have, mostly. The search engine wasn’t the point; they’re all pretty terrible these days with the absurd AI spam everywhere.
It’s a combination of things… I’m a software developer, so I’ll often end up with 20+ tabs open while resolving a problem.
- I don’t want to bookmark them because I don’t need them when I finish the task.
- I can’t close the tabs until I’m sure everything’s working because Google sucks these days and who knows how hard it’ll be to find the source again.
- Relying on browser history is like finding a needle in a haystack. Tasks can take multiple days and 100 different entries in history.
- I might have “finished” a task that still needs tested and I know it’s a bit shaky; I’ll want to move onto a new task but keep the most useful references until I no longer need them.
- I only bookmark pages that I’ll need long-term or multiple times. It’s already hard enough to keep those organized…
My tab hoarding has only gotten this bad because search engines are terrible now and the amount of AI garbage to sort through makes finding anything useful a pain in the ass the first time; let alone trying to find it a second time.

TheBeesKnees@lemmy.sdf.orgtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Social identity is a helluva drugEnglish15·3 months agoI think this overlooks how most MAGAs are rural… and when you live rural you already rely on your neighbors. Most of which are also white and the exceptions are ““one of the good ones.”” It’s why they can demonize entire demographics and still feeling like a good person since they’re good neighbors.
They’re not going to stop blaming ‘the others’ for hardships… They’re just going increase complaints about ‘the government’ and how much they pay in taxes.
I grew up in Amish country/farmland and it’s painful to see how stagnant my family has been over the years.

It just felt like an afterthought.
TheBeesKnees@lemmy.sdf.orgto [Dormant, move to [email protected]] Shows and TV@lemm.ee•If you liked Annihilation (2018) you might want to check out The Gorge (2025)English2·3 months agoAgreed. Honestly, the whole third act felt a bit rushed to me. They spent so much time setting up the characters relationships - not complaining - but then speed ran any of the mystery.

I stayed with Plex because downloading subtitles on the fly wasn’t available in Jellyfin, and no extensions for it either.
I think we need to clarify things a bit here. “Clean hair” and “Shampoo’d hair” aren’t the same things.
Everyone should clean their hair. Most people use shampoo for that, but it’s not good for all hair types. Curly hair usually suffers with shampoo use.
I don’t think “pink” and “hot pink” should count individually here.
Or if they do, you missed the opportunity to just list all colors + “hot” infront of them lol.
Still a passing grade regardless, so you get a hot gold star 🌟

That’s insane… and with 8 days left! Like bruhh what?? I refuse to believe they genuinely want to purchase it vs just driving up the price.

My “good enough” has been using AdGaud Home as a network-wide DNS blocker and connect my smart TV to it. It’s been great so far.
Plus, I get the bonus of seeing how much gets blocked.
TheBeesKnees@lemmy.sdf.orgto Privacy@lemmy.ml•The home page of my $1700 smart TV has a full page ad about watching adsEnglish4·4 months agoNot disagreeing, but at some point this won’t be enough. Assuming companies aren’t already, “offline” devices will get shipped with the ability to utilize unsecured networks and/or other devices. Better hope any neighbors are privacy conscious too.*
(they’re not)
TheBeesKnees@lemmy.sdf.orgto Privacy@lemmy.ml•The home page of my $1700 smart TV has a full page ad about watching adsEnglish2·4 months agoThis might depend on the version the OS is. I have an LG that’s been great for years, then it got a ““fresh new look”” that featured a giant banner for “recommendations.”
I had auto-updates off, too. Thankfully, they still had an option to revert to the previous menu - but who knows how long that’d stay an option? It pissed me off enough to finally setup AdGaurd Home on my home server.
Fun Fact: It’s increased my phone’s battery life by ~48 hours (excluding the rare occasion where its being actively used all day).
TheBeesKnees@lemmy.sdf.orgto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Arch-Based Distros Dominate the Linux Gaming SceneEnglish2·5 months agoI’m on EndeavorOS, but I basically use Arch’s wiki for any troubleshooting/guidance. I wanted Arch with an easy installation and I got just that.
No huge issues gaming-wise, but you do need to be comfortable referencing Arch wiki as needed regardless of your installation. My installation defaulted to the on-biard graphics processor instead of the gpu, so I had to install the proper stuff manually.
If you need help in the future, feel free to reach out.
I mean… that’s a pretty weird take. Most games have some sort of RNG - whether it be in the background or visibility listed probabilities. That doesn’t mean they’re promoting gambling.
The outrage over the 18+ rating was partially over other games with actual gambling (monetized loot boxes) are somehow PG / PG-13.
Meanwhile, this game with no in-game purchases and is only thematically about “Poker” is 18+ because it’s “promoting gambling”… If the game had an artwork swap they’d see it as a typical deck building rougelite and rate it the same as Slay the Spire.

Mind you, this was after 10 minutes of going in nonsensical loops of their options… I have never felt so baffled and enraged at the same time.

All the sponsored location spam drives me crazy. I love when I zoom in to a location and it doesn’t mark ANY of the shops besides STARBUCKStm
I’ll post some of mine to start. My favorites are mostly fun/decorative.
Fun
I’m a sucker for anything dinosaur. The original Flexi Rex was one of my first prints! I absolutely adore the art style of AndreasJoskaSutanto’s flexi dinos. My favorite is the Flexi Raptor
Most of the models are for paid members
Notable mention to this (free!) Flexi Dimetrodon by DirkvK that’s excellent too!
Decorative
I’ve been trying to fill the empty spaces on my walls. I printed a bunch of butterflies and bent the wings using a candle. I love how they’ve turned out! I’ll link to some of the ones I’ve found, in no specific order.

I’ve also been working on a bouquet of flowers, I’ll see if I can take a picture of it later to post.
