some_guy@lemmy.sdf.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the dumbest way you've sustained an injury, and what was the injury?3·6 hours agoI was close to blackout drunk and passing out on the sofa. I accidentally spilled a beer on the floor and decided to leave it for the morning. I must have got up to go to the bathroom and slipped because I came to with a head-wound from the corner of my coffee table.
My place looked like a murder scene from me stumbling around and bumping into walls with blood on my hands trying to figure out what happened before I got my neighbors to call 911 for me. Head wounds bleed a LOT. Thirteen stitches. Luckily, it was on the top of my scalp and my hair covers the massive scar.

Is there some technical limitation to their system??4·6 hours agoSixteen is the minimum where I work. We upped it at the end of last year. Fortunately, we also fixed our password policy to expire annually. It used to be every three months, which leads to recycling.

Are there any topics I should avoid or considerations I should take into account when training them?3·6 hours agoGood on ya for making an effort and being open to learning. I would buy you a beer if I could.

That’s not gonna happen. Workers must toil to make more profits for the people at the top or they will be replaced.
Eh, I don’t have the energy either. It’s very hot here today and I just walked home. It’s not as bad as you perceive, but I’m gonna go ahead and let it go.

We are avoiding airports and doing a roadtrip.

Edit: I see this is a trend of people thinking the road trip is to Alaska. We’re driving from the Bay Area to SoCal to visit friends.

That said, I’d rather go skydiving than a lot of other things involving heights because if it goes poorly, I’ll likely have instant death. Your framing of the issue gives me odd comfort. Thanks.
some_guy@lemmy.sdf.orgto Work Reform@lemmy.world•Company agrees to 4-day week at full pay—worker reveals dramatic result3·16 hours agoThe thing is, we aren’t dying or getting maimed on a regular basis. We should fight harder, but the average person doesn’t have anywhere near the same interest in improving working conditions as people in the start of the twentieth century.
I say this as someone who suggested unionizing at my previous company and there was zero interest. The place where I currently work is unionized, thank goodness.
This gave me a good chuckle.
I don’t mind a video for a review. But for instructions, I want to be able to easily skim and skip over things that I already know or that don’t apply to me.
Good thinking. Let us know how it turns out with a new post.

some_guy@lemmy.sdf.orgto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•do you think freewill truly exists?1·16 hours agoNo. Small talk is what you do with people who are unfamiliar. It’s not the bits you exchange with someone who is intimate. That’s just catching up. Small talk takes effort for an introvert (which I am). Catching up is just shooting the breeze.
